Who is the qualification for? 

This qualification is for people who require the knowledge to work safely on or near electric vehicles but do not work on the vehicle’s high voltage system. Examples of individuals employed in the following job roles may find this qualification useful: body shop technicians, auto glazing technicians, vehicle fast-fit technicians, sales staff, cleaners/valeters or vehicle fitters. This qualification does not deem someone competent to maintain, service or repair an electric vehicle’s high voltage systems and their components. 

What does the qualification cover?

 This qualification covers safe working practices and essential knowledge of the hazards associated with electric vehicles and the precautions to follow to avoid these.

Who is the qualification for? 

This qualification is designed for people who work on or near electric vehicles and who require the knowledge and skills to correctly and safely isolate and re-energise an electric vehicle.

What does the qualification cover? 

This qualification covers the competence and knowledge to isolate and re-energise an electric vehicle as well as safe working practices and essential knowledge of the hazards associated with electric vehicles.

What opportunities for progression are there?

Level 3 Award in Component Removal and Replacement in Electric and Hybrid Vehicles

If you have a good skills base and knowledge in vehicle maintenance and repair then the Level 2 study programme will help you improve to the next level of technical expertise. 

Certificates and Diplomas are available in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair,  Vehicle Fitting and Tyre Fitting. 

The skills, knowlwdge and behaviours gained will enable a seamless path onto an apprenticeship and employment. Alernatively you can progress to  the Level 3 Study programme.

Who is the qualification for? 

This qualification is designed for people looking to develop their knowledge and skills to allow them to safely carry out the removal and replacement of components on electric vehicle systems. 

What does the qualification cover?

 This qualification covers the competence and knowledge to safely carry out the removal and replacement of components in isolated high voltage systems in an electric vehicle. High voltage systems include the powertrain and ancillary systems. This qualification also ensures that candidates are aware of the effect that high voltage component technology has on other vehicle systems.
